From the Hungarian Institute for Educational Research and Development, our colleagues Katalin BANDER and Lucia KÁKONYI (CIDREE national coordinator from Hungary) represented the Institute at the annual CIDREE meeting in Dublin, from the 26th until the 28th March 2014.

The first item on the agenda was to listen to the reports of members of the Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe about current issues in public education in their respective countries, together with current activities and future plans of their institutes. Then participants reviewed CIDREE Benefits and CIDREE National Coordinator Guidance, documents for potential new members about the benefits of joining CIDREE and the tasks of national coordinators. The process of CIDREE projects (support for projects, conferences, study-visits etc. done together with at least two other member states) was revised. Participants discussed the possibilities of co-financing CIDREE projects from Erasmus+ funds, and smaller working groups were formed around certain topics of interest (inclusive education, evaluation of learning, new learning methods).

The next general assembly and conference of CIDREE in 2015 is planned to take place in Hungary. Ms. Kákonyi’s proposed topic was the development and improvement of literacy skills, which is relevant to all European countries participating in the ELINET project. The exact topic will be decided upon at a later date. The 2015 CIDREE yearbook will be edited by Hungary.
